CHRISTIE the Cat is inviting young Morecambe FC fans to enjoy a purrfect day out this Saturday.

The Shrimps are hosting a special family fun day ahead of their final Football league Two home game of the season on Saturday against Lincoln City.

There will be activities for all the family from 12.30pm - and cut price entry to the game as well as a chance to meet the players, win prizes and score goals against club mascot Christie the Cat, pictured.

And it is all free of charge to anyone attending the game.

Otherwise, entry to the Lancaster Road school field - where most of the attractions will be held - will be £1 per head.

To encourage family attendance, discounted family tickets for the match are on sale all this week and on Saturday morning from the club shop.

A family of four (two adults and two children) will be able to buy a family ticket for £25.

Shrimps' Football in the Community Officer Janet Preston says: "It has been a wonderful first season for Morecambe in the Football League and we want to make sure we end the year on a high. We want to get as many families down as possible for the final game and can guarantee a very special day out."
