THE father of a youngster suffering from autism has completed afund-raiser to help his son overcome his condition.
Martin McClure completed a 12-miles walk with Audra Puffet and Jay Jay Teague at the weekend - and the trio amassed £400.
The cash will go towards the Bring Back Jake appeal - which is nearing its £20,000 target to help five-year-old Jake McClure take part in the Son-Rise Programme in the USA.
The trio walked for four hours from Regent Caravan Park, Morecambe, to Caton Road, Lancaster, Hest Bank and then back along Morecambe promenade to the clock tower.
Says Martin, pictured right checking his feet for blisters: "We took the view in and the sun shone so it was very enjoyable. This was my last event for the appeal and we enjoyed it. The whole thing has been an amazing experience."
Martin adds that he had no idea that local man Phil McMaster was running the London marathon for the Jake appeal until he read about it in Citizen.
"We have been gobsmacked at the amount of support we have received. We have met so many people along the way. It has been wonderful."
