WITH regard to the article on the removal of graves from St Peter's Church, Blackburn.
I fear any protest will fall on deaf ears as, although a planning application has yet to be lodged, Blackburn with Darwen Council will use the big stick and compulsorily purchase all the land in the way of the road (remember what this council did at Redearth Road, Darwen).
With regard to Coun Alan Cottam's comment "We have not yet applied for planning permission" I would have thought that in the early stages of any project all planning and building regulations were approved before work started.
Has he wondered what will happen if the planning permission is not granted, or is he assuming approval is a formality?
It would also be of interest to know if agreement has been reached with other areas and businesses to allow this road to go through, and if so where will they be relocated.
