I HAVE got my sensible head on this week - and I have to agree wholeheartedly with the Lancaster District Chamber of Commerce that there simply MUST be a new road bridge over the River Lune.

CHEERS but not for local MP Geraldine Smith, who has been shown the door by a Morecambe pub because of the Government's barmy rise in duty on beer. OK, it is not directly Geraldine's fault - but you can see why the landlord is angry.

THE latest report into Lancaster Castle prison makes for interesting reading...accommodation is not brilliant and kitchens are not fit for use.

THE fun has started thenthe much-needed Heysham-M6 link road given the green light - and within a month someone makes an appeal into the legality of the decision.
