Not many bands have come through the ranks sounding like the spawn of Elvis Costello. Thank heavens for the Five O'Clock Heroes!
This Anglo-American combo have take on 70s-style jerky pop to great effect and as a result have caused quite a stir on both sides of the pond.
Their debut album, due out on September 18th, is sure to get people's imaginations racing: like The Kooks it uses acoustic and electric styles in unison.
Though great on CD, this type of music would be even more vibrant when played live.
They'll be touring throughout the UK in September and October and I'll certainly be looking to catch them.
A great release.
