A Rossendale teenager was glassed on a Burnley nightclub dancefloor in the early hours.

The 18-year-old student was on a night out with friends at Lava Ignite nightclub in Hammerton Street when he was attacked, sometime between 3am and 3.30am on Sunday, August 7.

The victim was dancing when he was approached by a man who, for an unknown reason, struck him several times around the head with a glass bottle.

The victim sustained lacerations to his head and cuts to his hands and was treated at hospital.

The offender is described as a white man with brown hair who is in his late teens to early twenties.

DC Steven Acres from Burnley CID said: “This assault took place in a busy nightclub and I am convinced somebody will have witnessed it and will know the person responsible.

“It was a completely unprovoked attack on a young man which left him with nasty facial injuries so I would appeal to anyone that witnessed anything to call police.”
