THE Pendle arm of a national charity has raised more than £1,500 in two street collections.
Members of Pendle’s Lifecare UK took to the streets of Nelson to do their bit for the 'Crisis in East Africa Appeal'.
The two collection teams, led by Mohammed Gafoor, were also joined by the Mayor of Pendle, Coun Nadeem Ahmed, in August.
Mr Gafoor said: “We raised a total of £1,594.15 and I would like to say a massive thank you to the people of Nelson.
“Their contributions mean a great deal and all the money will go towads the 'Crisis in East Africa Appeal'.”
Lifecare UK will be sending its own Relief team out to East Africa to provide food packages and water.
