IT is a great shame this is the last year The Dukes produced its walking theatre, which has become a nationally-renowned event.
The charm and endless possibilities offered by Williamson Park are always maximised by The Dukes’ team who transform the open-air venue into an enchanting set.
This year’s production of Merlin captured the uniqueness of the event more than ever.
A magical atmosphere could be seen, smelt and almost tasted.
From smoke to incense, every last detail was taken care of. Actors gave a passionate performance.
Laughter, screams, and even the odd tear, could be seen from the scores of people who turned out on a fine summer evening.
Arthur, played by John Cockerill, excelled and the Barrow woman, played by Shelley Atkinson, had people in fits of laughter.
A truly exciting production for the end of an era.
