MEDIA students from Blackburn College will be given the exclusive opportunity to direct, record and film London-based group The High Llamas.
The High Llamas, who formed in 1990, released their latest album Talahomi Way in April, is the latest band to perform in the college’s state-of-the-art media centre.
Following The High Llamas on Wednesday will be The Moonswill play on June 2 and The Crookes, currently tipped as the next big thing, will be in the studio on June 9.
The sessions are overseen by Creative Arts Head Gordon Huxley.
He said: “Blackburn College is developing a real niche in the music with artists such as The Charlatans, Biffy Clyro, Fanfarlo, Idlewild, Darren Hayman and Edwyn Collins all playing sessions here.
“The Media Centre at Blackburn College is unique in the area.
“And is dedicated to innovation and excitement. We see creative industries as the future of this country’s economic and cultural growth and offer our media students a real, hands-on experience that is embedded in a qualification.”
