A DARWEN man accused of trying to arrange for a Serbian girl to be brought to England for sex is facing further charges.
Darren Lee Cook, 25, formerly of Birch Hall Avenue, but now living in Saxon Close, Oswaldtwistle, initially appeared before Blackburn magistrates in November.
He pleaded not guilty to arranging the commission of a child sex offence, allegedly involving a nine-year-old Serbian girl, as well as seven charges of possessing, making and distributing indecent images of children.
The images said to have been in Cook’s possession, in Darwen last June, are at levels four and five — the most serious.
Cook has now appeared before Hyndburn magistrates on eight further charges of possessing indecent images of children, sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl, inciting a 12-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity and driving without insurance.
He has now been sent to Preston Crown Court for trial in May.
He was bailed on condition he does not enter the borough of Blackburn with Darwen nor contact with witnesses or children under 16.
He was also given an electronically monitored curfew.
