BLAKEWATER College is making satisfactory progress, according to Ofsted inspectors.
The Shadsworth Road, Blackburn, school was visited by inspectors who said it had made improvements since 2009.
They found better GCSE results, a fall in persistent absence and the drop in the rate of pupil suspension.
Coun Maureen Bateson, executive member for children's services, said: “This report is great news for staff, children,parents, carers and governors.
“They are all firmly focused on raising attainment and have worked hard to make progress.
“The aim is to continually improve this school. It's great that Ofsted has given its approval to the work that has been done at the school but there are always things we can do to make things even better.
“The school has an exciting future with the construction of the new school beginning in the new year and we want to make the school the best it can be.”
