A ROSSENDALE venue is to host a traditional German Christmas market this year.

The Friends of Bocholt are celebrating their 20th anniversary and have switched the market to Bacup Leisure Hall after three years of trading in the Astoria.

Around 30 stalls will be offering good quality and home produced English crafts and goods from 10am to 4pm next Saturday.

The Friend's own stall will be full of German Christmas cakes and other edible delights.

Rosalie Driver, organiser, said: "Our move to Bacup Leisure Hall will mean better access for all customers as the hall in all on one level. But all the special atmosphere and unique selections of crafts we've become famous for will still be there.

"Stalholders from across the North-West are invited so we are expecting a really varied show of crafts. There will be knitwear, hand-spinning, hand-made cards, landscape paintings, embroidery, silks and batik, soft toys, hobby horses, glass and much more."

German and English refreshments will also be on offer at Cafe Bocholt and local choirs will present seasonal entertainment.
