A PACKER who drove home from a night on the town was almost three times the limit, a court was told.
Burnley magistrates heard how Peter Pedder, 22, had not intended to get behind the wheel, but made a foolish decision.
Pedder, of Airdrie Crescent, Burnley, admitted driving with excess alcohol, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and no insurance. He was fined £200 with £55 costs and banned for two years.
Tom Snape, prosecuting, told the court police on duty in the early hours received reports of erratic driving.
A roadside breath test proved positive. The lowest of two further readings was 97 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 mililitres of breath, the legal limit is 35.
David Lawson, defending, said Pedder had not intended to drive.
The car had been parked in Burnley town centre to be picked up the day after.
The defendant then made the foolish decision to drive home.
