LEIGH Rotary Club plan to celebrate the movement's centenary year by building a new future for young estate children.
They are making an extra fund-raising effort during 2004-5 to set up a play area for up to five-year-olds on Higher Folds.
Members have already collected £5,000 towards the £23,000 costs and are organising a black tie gala dinner dance to boost the fund.
The event is at the Rendezvous Restaurant, Astley, on February 27.
