CONCERNING your front page article on January 1. We gather as there is shelter from the rain and it is a great place for socialising.

Going inside the shopping complex is not an option; this will cause more obstruction and havoc.

We cannot go to any other forms of shelter, like youth groups, as these are mostly occupied by people who discriminate and prejudge us.

Even on Church Street we receive non-stop abuse. We just want to socialise.

If your journalists had actually stayed around the area for the whole day, they would have witnessed a group of teenagers with different styles and views on life being intimidated and using inflicting pain on many of the youths who normally congregate around Church Street.

I believe your choice in putting the story on the front page was wrong as I believe you are discriminating against people with an alternative way of life.
