ART by talented high school pupils has gone on display at Bury College.

The 24 pupils from schools across the borough have been attending a series of art masterclasses at the college, developing their creative skills in drawing, photography, 3D art, graphics, painting, fashion and textiles.

They have spent seven weeks exploring these new techniques and receiving specialist support from college tutors.

Janice Crowley, curriculum manager of visual and performance arts at Bury College, said: "This has created a fantastic opportunity for pupils of local schools who have enjoyed the activities and made the most of the experience.

"It gave them the opportunity to develop work within a range of high-quality, specialist resources that are not always accessible to them at school."

She added: "We hope that this will benefit them and their GCSE grade, and confirm their career choice in art and design."

The exhibition opened to the public last Wednesday and runs until January 28. It can be viewed at the college's Woodbury Centre on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, between 5pm and 7pm.
