A NEW centre which has been set up to provide impartial information and support to organic farmers in Lancashire will open its doors tomorrow.
The North West Organic Centre has been created at the Rural Business Centre in Myerscough College, near Preston.
The centre has been set up by the Soil Association, a charity promoting organic food and farming, with help from the North West Development Agency (NWDA)and North West Food Alliance.
Phil Stocker, the Soil Association's head of agriculture, said: "The North West Organic Centre is a great new service for everyone involved in organic food and farming in the region - we thank the Northwest Development Agency, and the Northwest Food Alliance, for their vital support."
Steve Heaton, head of Rural Affairs at the NWDA, added: "There is considerable regional under-supply in current organic production."
