I AM amazed at the attitude of so-called responsible people in encouraging youngsters to play football in the streets and the cheap jibe that decent law-abiding Council Tax paying citizens are akin to TV's Victor Meldrew.
Do any of these free thinking people have a thought for the safety of the children playing on our streets?
Surely it's the job of council members to provide somewhere safe for the children to play and the attitude of the police is beyond belief.
On one hand, they use valuable manpower touring schools to lecture on the safe use of roads, on the other hand they encourage children to use the streets as playgrounds.
The police should start doing what we pay them handsomely to do, keep basic law and order.
