I AM one of Blackburn with Darwen Council's 5,000-plus employees and the thought of working for the so-called "coalition" of power-hungry politicians fills me with absolute dread.

So much so that I for one will be down to the job centre searching for alternative employment this week. (Incidentally not because I only want to work for a Labour administration having worked for different political persuasions in the past).

Let's look at what I am going to have to work with. A decision-making body made up of individuals each with their own agenda: to seek power and glory for themselves and hang the consequences. Forget the good of the local community, these politicians are in it pure and simple for their own power trip.

Seduced by the quest for power, people with such diverse and opposing political views as the Tories and the LibDems are considering joining forces with a bunch of renegades who feel so aggrieved by Labour's election of members to key posts, they have quit their party and formed a group determined to look after the interests of one section of the community alone.

A council run by a coalition like this will do nothing for us and will only be left with egg on its face come the next election and when it tries to balance the books.
