RESIDENTS in Burnley are being given the chance to find out more about plans to regenerate their neighbourhood.

A public meeting is being held tonight to discuss plans to build a £10million housing scheme on the site of a disused factory in Gannow Lane.

Proposals for 120 new homes, including some apartments, have been put forward by Burnley housing developer, Ken Slater, who is the chief executive of Holme Park Developments.

It will be called Sycamore Park if it is given the go-ahead by Burnley Council.

The plans will be on display at the meeting, which is being held at the Dugdale Arms, in Dugdale Road, at 7pm, and residents will also get the chance to meet Ken and the team behind the development.

The 55-year-old former Barden school pupil, who built his first house in 1977, said: "The Sycamore Park development is really exciting for the Gannow Lane area of Burnley and I want to share my ideas with local people.

"I hope residents come along to meet us and see what we are planning. We will have our plans for the site there for everyone to see and I will be there to answer any questions they might have."

Any residents unable to attend the meeting can view the plans at Parkwood Mews, off Pinder Street, Nelson, until Friday, from 10am to 4pm.

The planning application will be considered by councillors later this year.
