A 39-YEAR-OLD man died after taking a large quantity of paracetamol, an inquest heard.
Dean Alston, of Rosegrove Lane, Burnley, was found dead in the bedroom of his home on the morning of Friday, February 20, this year.
The inquest, held at Burnley Magistrates' Court, heard he had been showing signs of unusual behaviour and had been taking medication for depression.
A post mortem examination was carried out which revealed he had taken an unknown, but large quantity of paracetamol.
Richard Taylor, East Lancashire Coroner, said: "We have a man who was depressed. He was prescribed anti-depressants.
"Dean had said in the past that he would like to end his own life. He has taken a lot of pain killers and the result has been the ending of his own life." The coroner recorded an open verdict.
