PRIZES are to be presented to the winners of Darwen Civic Society's annual photographic competition tonight by the Deputy Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, Coun David Foster.
Organisers of the competition said the entries this year were of a very high standard and the judges had a difficult task to select the winners.
The prizes are to be presented at 6pm at Darwen Library.
The theme of the event was Darwen's Best Features and a selection of the entries will be on display in Darwen Library's exhibition room until July 9.
People can collect their photographs from the reception desk at the library from July 10.
Awards - Adult Section: 1Graham Dean (Sunnyhurst Wood - The Stream), 2. Harold Heys (Clough Street), 3 Konrad Tapp (Autumn Sunnyhurst Wood), highly commended J Suggett (Frosty Morning). Moorland School winners: 1Jennifer Conway, 2 Sara Milner, 3 Antonia Aldridge, highly commended Jordan Kendall. Project: 1 Antonio Covelloe, 2 Debbie Milner. St Barnabas School winners: 1 Gemma Cawley,2 Scott Kelsall, 3. Charlotte Ashton. Special child prize: David Ryder.
