Clarets hotshot Ian Moore confessed that finding the net at Watford was a massive weight off his shoulders.

The striker hit the bulls-eye to score the only goal at Vicarage Road and earn Steve Cotterill his first competitive victory as Burnley boss.

And after getting his goals tally up and running for the season, Moore is backing Clarets skipper Robbie Blake to join him on the scoresheet soon as Burnley look to build on their unbeaten start.

"It's taken a long time coming, but thankfully the goal finally arrived," said a relieved Moore.

"Every striker wants to get off the mark for the season and I think you would be lying if you said you weren't worried at not scoring with three games gone.

"I've spoken to Robbie and I think it's getting to him a little bit, but he got 22 goals last season and he will definitely be okay.

"But from a personal point of view I'm just happy to get of the mark. A lot of my play is all about confidence and once you get the goal it is a massive, massive weight off your shoulders."

Moore, whose 64th minute header propelled Cotterill's Clarets into the top six of the fledgling First Division table, added: "We are not getting carried away.

"I know we are in the top six and we haven't been beaten, but as long as we don't get carried away and keep picking points up, who knows where we can finish?"

Clarets goalscoring legend Andy Payton will finally get his chance to say farewell to the fans tomorrow night.

Payton will be a guest at Stan Ternent's testimonial at Turf Moor, where he will be available to meet Burnley supporters for the first time since being released form the club in 2003.

Thousands of tickets have been sold for the showpiece game against Manchester United but fans can still turn up and pay on the night.

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that first team stars Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville, Diego Forlan and goalkeeper Ricardo will be making appearances.

Proclaimers tribute band the Reclaimers will be performing a live set, which will include club anthem 500 Miles.

The evening's entertainment starts at 6.30pm.
