I WOULD like to comment on your front page headline on Friday, September 10, "Totally Free."
I think it's a disgrace that the people that we vote for at council elections to represent us and get allowances for doing this also want free passes for the town centre car park while traders and shoppers have to pay.
A council spokesman said "This was recommended by an Independent Remuneration Panel." So why didn't the council say 'Sorry we don't want free parking?'
This council was told last year what would happen if they brought on-street pay and display. People would be driven away from Blackburn and that is what has happened.
