LEIGH Centurions Under 21s senior academy side added to the club's growing collection of silverware when they won their Grand Final at Hilton Park on Monday night.

A crowd approaching 1000 saw them overturn a 10-0 first half deficit to beat Featherstone Rovers 36-10. It was a fitting finale after going through the entire season unbeaten.

Leigh made a shakey start and 10 minutes before the break they were 10-0 in arrears. But by the break they had hit back to lead 12-10.

Craig Johnson and Keiron Maddocks scored the first half tries that Mick Govin improved to give them a narrow half time advantage.

Leigh dominated the entire second half and emerged comfortable winners. Talented young half-back Govin came off the bench late in the second half to spark a Leigh attack and fittingly he ended with six goals and a try.

But man of the match was skipper and loose-forward Anthony Blackwood who celebrated his 22nd birthday with a powerful display in attack and defence. There were other strong games from props Paul Norman and Mike Callan.

Blackwood scored one of Leigh's four second half tries with others coming from Radney Bowker, Tommy Grundy and Govin.
