A 13-YEAR-OLD music prodigy has been given £1,200 to pay for a new flugel horn. Kirsten Broadhurst, of Tyldesley, will benefit from a BBC Fame Academy grant to replace her old instrument.
The award caps a fine year for the Bolton Youth Brass Band member, who also plays with Astley Youth Band, after she was named as principal flugel horn with the newly-formed National Children's Brass Band of Great Britain.
