HINDSFORD beat Tempest Utd 3-1 away in the first round of the Lancashire Shield on Saturday.
Hindsford started well and created chances but it was the home team who took the lead against the run of play when they headed home from a free
kick. Hindsford continued to play well and equalised early in the second half following a strong run from Peter Costello who put Dave Fashou in on the
left who did well to score from a tight angle.
Hindsford continued to press and Paul Cunliffe gave them the lead with a shot from the edge of the penalty area. Another good run from Costello ended with Fashou getting his second in fine style.
On Saturday the first team is away at Wythenshawe Town while the seconds are at home to Heywood St James, kick off's 2.30pm.
