I WAS always under the impression that roads were for vehicle use and pavements were for pedestrians.

As the user of an electric pavement scooter, I encounter this 'car on pavements' fiasco every time I go out.

What about the people with prams, wheelchairs and pavement scooters who have to risk life and limb going off the pavement into oncoming traffic?

The motorist maybe law-abiding, but short on consideration and sometimes manners, when challenged for blocking the pavement.

Road calming measures have had to be carried out because of the irresponsible behaviour of quite a lot of motorists so the onus is on the car owners.

Please give consideration to people that are less fortunate in their choice of transport.

I am sure that if a motorist killed a pedestrian on the pavement the court would not accept the excuse that a police officer told him or her it was all right to use the pavement.
