Family and friends of Carnforth crash victim pray for his recovery

THE FRIENDS and family of a Hornby motorcyclist critically injured after he was involved in a collision in Carnforth at the weekend are praying for his speedy recovery.

The incident happened at 8.10pm on Sunday 14 June when a Mercedes and Yamaha motorcycle collided on Kellet Road.

Geoffrey Sacksville-Wiggins, 33, a retained fire-fighter from Hornby and member of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service for two years, remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

His stepdaughter Nicola, 12, was on the back of the bike with him and managed to escape with bruises.

Geoffery’s wife Diane, 39, said: “All Geoff’s friends and family are all missing him and wishing for him to get well soon.

"At the moment, it just seems as if it is one step forward and two steps back but I just keep saying to him, hurry up and wake up, it’s our third year wedding anniversary in three weeks and you’re not getting out of it that easy!

“Nicola misses her dad and has been taking this photo of them into hospital for him hoping he wakes up. She needs her clothes shopping partner back!”

Chief Fire Officer Peter Holland says, “We are all shocked and saddened by this news and hope he will make a speedy recovery.

"On behalf of Geoffrey’s friends and colleagues in the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service I offer our best wishes too to his family and friends at this difficult time.”
