‘WHO’S the nice gentleman, who just happens to be an orphan, in the black?’...

Bosses at Morecambe FC want to change the attitudes of their fans and make Christie Park a family-friendly experience - by booting out swearing supporters who turn the air blue.

The Shrimps are backing a new Football League campaign aimed at encouraging more families to attend matches at their local club.

The ‘Enjoy the Match’ campaign aims to ensure parents can take children to matches in a family friendly environment.

It will focus on removing abusive language and aggressive behaviour from family areas - and Shrimps will roll out the scheme across the ground.

Chief executive Rod Taylor says: “As a family orientated club we are delighted to support this initiative. Anything that encourages more families to football, and to Christie Park, has to be seen as a good idea.

“We have a introduced a new family ticket this year in an effort to make all games at Morecambe special.”
