Fire boss in line for top job

LANCASHIRE’S top fire-fighter has landed a new job after being voted in as vice president-elect of the Chief Fire Officers’ Association.
Chief fire officer of the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service Peter Holland is now in line to become president of the association in 2010.
The association, formed in 1974, lets principal fire officers discuss pressing issues. Mr Holland has been the county’s chief officer since 1999.
