This photo from the archives left us intrigued and we’re hoping that Looking Back readers can help provide a few more details than the ones we have managed to glean.
We suspect the picture was taken around the 1900s and shows Blackburn showman James West with one of his prize exhibits.
Tiny Tot was billed as being ‘the world’s smallest horse’ and the claim may well have been accurate looking at the photo.
Touring circuses and fairs were among the most popular forms of entertainment and often featured sideshows of the bizarre and obscure.
Crowds would gather to witness these collection of oddities and it’s likely that Tiny Tot was a popular attraction. If you know more about James West or Tiny Tot, email bygones@nqnw.co.uk or leave a comment
