Police are investigating after a cash machine was set on fire.
The ATM at the Spar shop on Brunshaw Road in Worsthorne appeared to have been set alight on Saturday morning.
Considerable damage has been done to the machine itself, with the fascia melting.
Damage has also been caused to the wall.
It is suspected that the incident was deliberate in an attempt to either steal the ATM or cause irreparable damage to it.
Police say the incident has been reported to them and they are carrying out a number of enquiries.
A spokesperson said: "It has been reported to us and enquiries are ongoing."
