A CLASSICAL concert for babies and toddlers hit the right chord when it made its debut in Morecambe - and that means more will follow.
Mini-Mozart' eent was staged by Lancashire Sinfonietta at the Platform in a bid to make classical music accessible to more people.
And now it is hoped that more tiny tots in the area can get an intimate introduction to classical greats in a series of follow-up 'gigs'.
A live string quartet headed up the debut workshop performing pieces by Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Vivaldi, including interactive songs and lullabies which allowed parents and older children to join in.
And it went down a storm, says Fiona Sinclair, general manager of the Sonfonietta.
She says: "The programme has been so successful that we are hoping to develop it. As well as having a newborn to 18 month-old concert we want to and open it up for older children.
"The idea is that the concerts help parents to find ways of using music and integrating it into family life. If, out the concerts, we get a couple of families using music at home then I feel we are doing our job."
