A PLUMBER who throttled and beat up his then partner took her to Asda to get makeup to cover up her injuries, a court heard.
Father-of-two Wayne Jeffrey White, 33, had headbutted victim Emma Radcliffe as her sobbing 19-month-old son tried to push him away.
He was later bailed over the "prolonged" attack but then threatened to kill her, saying he would torch her home and take her to the railway track, Burnley Magistrates heard.
White, who runs Rosehill Plumbing Services, had been convicted after a trial of assault causing actual bodily harm and making a threat to kill in June and August, but still protested his innocence.
The defendant, of Victoria Road, Padiham, was given a 180-day jail term, suspended for two years, with two years' supervision and the community domestic violence programme.
He must pay £750 compensation and £250 costs.
