GIRL power will help launch the festive season in Accrington tonight at the annual Christmas lights switch-on.
Spice Girls tribute act Spice Unite will be performing and there will also be an appearance from the cast of the town's pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.
The Mayor of Hyndburn Tony Dobson will be there with performing arts students from Accrington and Rossendale College.
The big switch-on takes place at 7.30pm and will be greeted by a huge fireworks display above the Arndale Shopping Centre.
Events begin at 6.30pm and organisers are warning people top arrive early because they are expecting large numbers of visitors to the town.
Many shops in the town will be staying open until 8pm to mark the occasion.
