A WOMAN was taken to hospital by fire services after collapsing on a road.
Crews rescued the woman after they found her collapsed on the floor on Blackburn Road, Darwen at around 11.20am today (October 8).
Firefighters administered first aid at the scene and took her to Royal Blackburn Hospital.
A fire service spokesman said: "The crew were aware someone had collapsed and they administered first aid.
"As an exceptional measure they took her to the Royal Blackburn Hospital at the back of the fire engine."
