A HORRIFIED dad has claimed dozens of rats party in the loft of his home every night.
George Aiozba, 52, from Blackburn, said the rats come from a nearby house and then climb into the loft of his property.
He said he is worried the rats will get into the rest of the house and leave droppings in their path.
And the rat-infestation has been a problem for two years since Mr Aiozba moved into the house.
It stems from a rubbish mound in a nearby home, according to Mr Aiozba.
Mr Aiozba, of Walsh Street, described the situation as horrendous and a health hazard.
He said: “I moved into this house two years and the back yard of the house near to me is full of rubbish.
“Rats come from it and find a way into my loft and I’m just worried they’ll find their way into the rest of the house.
“Every night there is a rat party going on in my loft.
“They’re sitting and waiting there, dozens of them."
Despite contacting Blackburn with Darwen Council about the issue and putting rat poison down, he said the rats keep on coming back.

Mr Aiozba, who lives with his wife Svetlana Mushnikova and two-month old child Safia Aiozba, said: “I’ve called the council and reported it a few times.
“They’ve come and put poison in trays but the rats keep returning.
“The environmental agent has been around and seen the back yard and how ridiculous it is but still nothing has been done.
“I have a child and if the rats find the way inside the house, we will have to move out.
“It’s a health hazard."
He called on the council to do something about the rat problem which he said is affecting other neighbours on the street.
He added: “The rubbish in the back yard of the house needs clearing because otherwise the rats are going to keep coming.
“It’s unbelievable and I’ve never seen anything like it."
He added: “The area is really deteriorating and there is constant rubbish, how long is it going to take for something to be done about this problem?”
A council spokesman said that a further visit is set to be paid to the tenant to investigate the issue.
