AN astronomical event promises to give viewers a spectacular show of the night sky with a lecture from a specialist in Asteroseismology.
Hoghton Tower in Preston will host the evening on Sunday 11 November, where people can go to stargaze with telescopes from the Alston Observatory team.
Senior lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire, Professor Donald Kurtz will be giving a talk for an hour before guests will be able to visit the Wilderness Gardens for the stargazing.
Professor Kurtz is an experienced public speaker and has seen some of the world's greatest astronomical hotspots.
If the weather does not permit outdoor stargazing, guests can view the night sky in the stellarium on a domed screen. There will also be an exhibition featuring at meteorite in the smoking room by the Preston & District Astronomical Society.
Refreshments will be available from the tea room, and the site closes at 10pm to all guests.
