A BUSY main road which closed on Thursday morning for emergency repairs is to remain closed until after the weekend.
Blackburn with Darwen Roads announced that the closure on Revidge Road was put in place on August 16 with the road likely to be shut off until Sunday or Monday.
A spokesperson for Blackburn with Darwen roads said: “Please be aware that United Utilities will be closing Revidge Road from Thursday morning to undertake emergency repairs to the pumping station opposite the former Corporation Park Pub.
“This closure is likely to be in place until Sunday or Monday and local diversions will be signed to direct traffic to an alternative route.
‘Water on Wheels’ has been in situ throughout today to assist in keeping supplies uninterrupted until the new water main is installed to rectify the issue with the pumping station.”
A United Utilities spokesperson said: "We apologise for any inconvenience. Customer water supplies will not be impacted during this work."
