A FARMER crashed his car into a field as he made his way home from drinking in a village pub.
Blackburn magistrates heard Chris Spence initially gave police the wrong name but then handed over his own driving licence.
Spence, 31, of Dunsop Road, Whitewell, Clitheroe, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. He was made subject to a community order for 15 months with 200 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge. He was banned for 28 months after the court heard he gave a reading of 117 against the legal limit of 35.
Richard Prew, defending, said his client had been drinking in Chipping and made the rash decision to drive home.
