A PARAGLIDER had to be rescued by a mountain rescue team and airlifted to hospital following an accident.
Rescue workers were called to Parlick, near Chipping in the Ribble Valley at around 1.30 this afternoon to the injured paraglider.
The paraglider was seen to by the mountain team and other emergency service workers before packaged for evacuation on a stretcher and winched by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and airlifted to hospital.
A spokesperson for Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue said: "We were called out at 1.30 to assist the North West Air Ambulance with an injured paraglider on Parlick near Chipping in the Forest of Bowland.
"The paraglider was packaged for evacuation and then winched for transportation for hospital."
