TRAIN users are likely to face the consequences of planned cancellations when travelling around Lancashire this weekend.

Northern has released details of cancellations to train services on Sunday 12 on parts of the network in the North West and say they are 'sorry for any disruption customers may experience'.

The level of planned cancellations is still being worked on and Northern say every effort is being made to reduce the numbers of cancellations.

A spokesman for Northern said: “We are sorry that our customers continue to experience some disruption to their weekend services.

“We are advising anyone thinking of travelling on Sunday on these routes to plan their journey carefully”.

Planned cancellations will be updated online on and customers are being urged to check on Saturday morning for the latest information.

Customers are also encouraged to use the station help-points to ask about alterative arrangements.

Anyone whose journey is delayed by 30 minutes or more can apply for compensation via Delay Repay.
