ONE of East Lancashire’s most successful and famous businessmen will be returning to TV screens with a new show on how to get rich.

Colne entrepreneur Dave Fishwick, who was nominated for a BAFTA for his television series Bank of Dave, will star in a new seven-part series, How To Get Rich Quick, starting next week on Channel 4.

The show, which has taken over seven-and-a-half months to make, aims to teach people how to make their money grow and double their investment pot in a few months using the skills that helped make the businessman become a self-made millionaire.

The 47-year-old, who grew up in Nelson, described his new Channel 4 series as the ‘biggest and ‘best’ yet.

He said: “I’m helping people to get the best deal possible.

“If anyone is rich I do not want them to watch this programme because I don’t want to make the rich richer.

“The problem is once people get rich they pull the ladder up and stop anyone else from climbing it. I want to show people that anyone can achieve success.”

How to Get Rich Quick, which has been produced by Little Gem Media, will feature several people from East Lancashire, including the owner of Burnley fish and chips takeaway, Fryday’s.

Mr Fishwick added: “I told the owner that he was going to be on the TV. I like the smaller businesses that could do with the coverage from the national TV.

“The Costa coffees of this world have enough money. It’s what we can do for people in Lancashire and help to put Lancashire on the map.”

Vivienne Molokwu, Channel 4 commissioning editor for features, said: “Dave’s made a not-so-small fortune from absolutely nothing, and I’m looking forward to watching him share his wit and wisdom.”

The first episode will be broadcast on Channel 4 on Monday from 8.30pm.
