A MAN was taken to hospital after a two car crash left a road blocked.

Emergency services were called to the incident at the junction of Ramsgreave Road and Pleckgate Road in Blackburn at around 11.20pm last night.

A black Volkswagen Passat and a green BMW 330D were involved in the incident.

Three people were treated at the scene following the crash and one man in his 50s was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to a minor injury road traffic collision.

"It involved two cars and the road was blocked for a short time after the crash.

"One of the drivers was left on the road with head, neck and back injuries.

"Highways England was also called to deal with a leak from one of the cars."

Firefighters were also called to the scene to help clear the road.

A North West ambulance spokesman said: "We were called to the incident outside the Knowles Arms at around 11.20pm.

"Three people were involved and one man in his 50s was taken by ambulance to Royal Blackburn Hospital with back injuries.

"The injuries are not thought to be serious."
