FIREFIGHTERS were called to a grass fire near the Knuzden Brook.
The area, which sat on the Blackburn with Darwen and Hyndburn border, was put under control by firefighters shortly after they arrived at 6.20pm last night, a fire service spokesman said.
He said: "Due to the proximity of the grass fire to nearby buildings, and with what has happened recently with other grass fires, we looked to get it under control as soon as possible which we did.
"We sent one crew to the fire and used special grass fire equipment to put it out.
"It is unclear whether the fire was started deliberately or accidentally.
"Crews had to walk 500metres or so to get to the spot.
