A THEATRE company visited a secondary school to raise awareness about the dangers on the roads.

Road safety campaigners and drama students went to Blackburn College to speak to pupils about how together they can make a difference on January 11, 1999.

The theatre company called Walking Forward put on the play 'Never Saw The Day' to explain why road safety is important.

The dramatic performance follows the lives of five friends who are blighted by a tragic accident in their lives.

A belligerent attitude towards car driving and passenger responsibility becomes the catalyst for the thought-provoking drama.

It is specifically dedicated to those who have suffered as a result of a car crash and will continue to suffer until society recognises the repercussions of a road collision.

Road safety officer Steve Chadwick, who is pictured far left, and borough councillor Mary Smith, who is pictured next to him, can be seen speaking to school children and members from the theatre group about the importance of road safety.
