A 97-YEAR-OLD woman was treated for smoke inhalation after a microwave fire at a house.
Two fire engines from Colne attended the incident at a property in Lady Hartley Court, Colne, at around 12.10pm today.
Firefighters used positive pressure ventilation for smoke clearance and were in attendance for around thirty minutes.
The woman was treated for smoke inhalation by paramedics at the scene.
A fire service spokesman said the cooking had been left unattended in the microwave in the house.
The spokesman said: "A woman, 97, was treated for smoke inhalation.
"We asked for an ambulance to come and check her out at the scene.
"Cooking had been left unattended in a microwave in the house.
"There was no damage caused by the fire."
An ambulance service spokeswoman said: "We sent one ambulance and an elderly woman was treated for smoke inhalation.
"She wasn't taken to hospital."
