A PERSON has been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on the M65.
Emergency services were called to the incident, which involved five vehicles, after two cars hit the central reservation near junction nine of the M65 Eastbound shortly after 5pm.
A fire service spokesman said one person was trapped in a car and had to be released by firefighters before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
A lane was closed while emergency services cleared the area but was re-opened shortly after 6pm.
Highways England warned motorists to drive with caution while vehicles were cleared from the hard shoulder.

Traffic is delayed back to junction seven and people heading towards Burnley will be affected, particularly those heading to the Burnley v Chelsea game at Turf Moor.
Motorists intending to travel that way have been warned to allow plenty if time for the journey.
