AN internationally acclaimed ballet will be performed at a town centre venue.
Swan Lake, written by 19th century composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, will be recreated by the Vienna Festival Ballet in Blackburn town centre tonight.
The play, which is based on Russian and German folk tales, tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer's curse.
It premiered at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow on March 4, 1887 and has since become one of the most renowned ballets in modern times.
The theatrical production was reconstructed as a film, Black Swan, in 2010 which featured Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis.
The theatrical production, which is suitable for all ages, will be performed at King George's Hall, in Northgate, Blackburn tonight from 7pm. Doors will open at 6.15pm. Tickets for adults will cost £14.50 and £10.50 for under 10s or groups of more than 10.
